Counselling and Psychotherapy in North London

I am no longer taking new clients

Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (Senior Accredited)

I've been working as a counsellor and psychotherapist in North London, Islington and Camden, for 22years. Counselling and psychotherapy can relieve much suffering in life and sometimes transform your life. The success of the work depends very much on the relationship that develops between you, the client, and me, the counsellor/ psychotherapist.
The way I understand being human is that we are formed and grow in relationship with other people - our primary carers, our siblings, our friends, our lovers, our partners, our colleagues, - they all have varying degrees of impact on how we feel about ourselves and our lives; and in relationship with our environment - socio-economic, political, cultural and natural. The quality of our relationship with ourself, which is very much affected by these relationships, will make a big difference to how intensely and frequently we experience all the different states that are part of being human: states of fear, anxiety, joy, excitement, anger, irritability, dissatisfaction, frustration, pain, loss, sadness, despair, happiness, unhappiness, bliss, fulfilment, contentment.

Sometimes the difficult states come to be so present so often that we feel we need help to find our way through the pain and misery. I believe that one of the most powerful sources of help is a relationship with a counsellor/psychotherapist, where you and your experiences can be attended to in a safe, supportive, non-judgemental environment, by another human being, which is what I offer in in counselling/psychotherapy.

You may be be looking for a counsellor/psychotherapist because of a particular event or experience that has disturbed or unsettled you, or you may just feel that it is time that you gave yourself the chance to try for a more satisfying life after years of knowing that you are not really happy or fully alive. I work with people who are struggling with a range of difficulties and situations
  • abuse
  • addiction
  • depression
  • anxiety and panic
  • generalised anxiety disorder
  • stress
  • anger and rage
  • relationship issues
  • sexuality
  • meaninglessness
  • loss
In the counselling/psychotherapy I am moved and inspired by the experience and witnessing of how a person can heal and grow through close and deep interaction with another. We can begin to make sense of what our life has been and discover a more alive, a more vibrant, a more connected way of being who we are. What we can offer each other as human beings is infinite in its breadth and depth.
